In a groundbreaking move, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has signed two significant agreements during the Dubai International Project Management Forum (DIPMF) to advance innovative transportation systems.
Floc Duo Rail System
The first Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) explores the development of the Floc Duo Rail system – a cutting-edge double-track system designed for swift and efficient transportation. This driverless system utilizes electrical power and adapts to the city’s needs by employing short units during low peak periods and long units during high peak periods.
Solar-powered Rail Bus System
The second MoU focuses on the possibility of creating a rail bus system, operating on a solar-panel-equipped bridge. These solar panels generate the electricity needed to power the system, offering a cost-effective and environmentally friendly solution to meet Dubai’s transportation needs.
Global collaboration with Urban-Mass Company and RAIL BUS Inc.
The agreements were signed with two world-renowned companies specializing in transportation system development and zero-emission mass transportation solutions:
- Urban-Mass Company (UK): Leading the Floc Duo Rail System initiative.
- RAIL BUS Inc. (US): Collaborating on the solar-powered rail bus system.
Abdul Mohsen Kalbat, CEO of the Rail Agency, RTA, highlighted the strategic importance of these agreements in aligning with RTA’s plans to adopt advanced transportation practices. The move aims to enhance Dubai’s quality of life, incorporating innovative technologies for sustainable development.
