Dubai has been named the cleanest city in the world for the third year in a row, according to a ranking by the Mori Memorial Foundation of Japan.

Dubai received this accolade as a part of the organization’s Global Power City Index.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, shared the news with his 11 million Twitter followers.

Dubai safest city in the world

He said: “Dubai is the safest city in the world, the cleanest in the world, and the most beautiful. God willing, let us keep it safe, stable and prosperous.”

“Cleanliness is civilisation. Cleanliness is culture. Cleanliness is part of faith,” Sheikh Mohamed Bin Rashid added.

The Global Power City Index is an assessment that ranks major cities worldwide based on their attractiveness and comprehensive ability to attract people, businesses, and capital from around the world.

The Global Power City Index assesses major cities based on six key functions: economy, research and development, cultural interaction, livability, environment, and accessibility.
