Dubai Metro continues to be at the heart of the city’s public transport network, supporting the mobility needs of millions of residents, workers, and tourists.
As Dubai’s population and economic activity grow, so does the demand for efficient, reliable, and well-connected transit options. In 2025, the metro played a crucial role in daily travel, with certain stations emerging as key hubs due to their strategic locations, connectivity, and access to major commercial and tourist destinations.
Top metro stations by ridership
Leading the way is BurJuman Metro Station, the main interchange serving both Red and Green lines, which handled 17.8 million passengers during the year. Al Rigga Metro Station, another major Red Line stop, followed closely with 13.8 million riders. On the Red Line, Union Metro Station served 13.6 million passengers, while Sharaf DG was the busiest station on the Green Line, welcoming 10.5 million riders.
High traffic at these stations reflects their central roles within the network. Interchange stations like BurJuman allow passengers to switch seamlessly between lines, while stations such as Al Rigga and Union connect densely populated neighborhoods, commercial areas, and popular tourist attractions. Integration with bus services and shared mobility options further enhances accessibility, making these stations vital for daily commuting and city-wide connectivity.
The strong ridership figures underline Dubai’s commitment to building a flexible, efficient, and sustainable public transport system. By connecting major urban centers, tourist hubs, and residential areas, the metro helps reduce road congestion, supports economic activity, and offers residents and visitors a reliable alternative to private vehicles.
