Careem introduces scheduled food delivery in Dubai

Careem has introduced a new feature on Careem Food called “Scheduling,” allowing customers to plan their meals hours or even days in advance.

The addition aims to give users greater control over delivery times and reduce the need for last-minute ordering during peak hours.

Plan meals ahead

The Scheduling feature is integrated directly into the Careem Food platform. Customers can select a specific delivery time and date either by choosing the ‘Schedule’ option on a restaurant’s page before browsing the menu or by picking a future time slot during checkout. The feature is designed to accommodate both planners and spontaneous users who want their meals delivered exactly when needed.

Customer convenience

Ziad Barbara, Senior Product Director at Careem, said, “Our goal is to simplify people’s lives, and that means removing everyday friction. We’ve all felt the pressure of the lunchtime rush or the 6 PM scramble for dinner. Scheduling gives customers complete control, so their food works around their life, not the other way around. It’s about giving them back one of the most valuable resources – their time.”

The feature addresses common customer needs for flexibility and reliability, whether it’s ensuring lunch arrives between meetings, preparing a family dinner at a specific time, or planning weekly meals in advance. Users can place orders during quieter moments and be confident their food will arrive on schedule.

Expansion plans

Scheduling is currently available in Dubai and is set to expand to Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Sharjah in December. Careem Food users can access the feature by opening the Careem app and selecting ‘Food’ from the home screen. Careem Plus members benefit from free delivery on all food and grocery orders, along with discounts across rides, dining, home cleaning, and more.
