Brighton College Dubai has once again been recognised on the global academic stage, with two pupils securing top honours in the latest Pearson Edexcel examination results.
Two Year 12 pupils from Brighton College Dubai were named among the highest achievers in the 2024/25 Pearson Edexcel examination series. The school recorded three Outstanding Pearson Learner Awards, including two world-level distinctions and one regional award.
The Outstanding Pearson Learner Awards recognise pupils who achieve the highest examination marks at global, regional or national level across Pearson Edexcel qualifications.
Top student achievers
Ibrahim Hassan Chatha achieved the Highest Mark in the World for GCSE Spanish and the Highest Mark in the Middle East for GCSE Physical Education. His results placed him among the strongest performers across two different subjects.
Rudayna Islam Yassin received the Highest Mark in the World for GCSE Business, reflecting strong academic performance in the subject.
Mr. Simon Crane, Head Master of Brighton College Dubai, said: “These results reflect the ambition and determination of our pupils, who continue to set the bar high both locally and internationally. Ibrahim and Rudayna have displayed remarkable dedication and intellectual curiosity, and their achievements further illustrate the high quality of teaching and supportive community we have at Brighton College Dubai.”
Each year, Pearson recognises a limited number of pupils worldwide through the Outstanding Pearson Learner Awards. In 2025, more than 2,100 learners from 740 schools across 85 countries received the award. Eligibility requires achieving a Grade 9 in International GCSE or UK GCSE examinations.
Previous achievements
Rudayna Islam Yassin had also been recognised in the previous awards cycle, receiving three distinctions, including the Highest Mark in the World for International GCSE Mathematics A, the Highest Mark in the Middle East for GCSE French, and the Highest Mark in the UAE for International GCSE Computer Science.
In the same 2024/25 examination series, ten additional Brighton College Dubai pupils achieved Grade 8 or higher in at least five subjects, indicating consistent academic performance across multiple disciplines.
Brighton College Dubai confirmed that award recipients received their Outstanding Pearson Learner Award certificates following the release of results at the end of 2025, with a school ceremony held in January to mark the achievements.
