BenQ Middle East launches ScreenBar series in Dubai

BenQ Middle East has launched its ScreenBar Series in Dubai, introducing new monitor lighting products aimed at improving desk lighting and reducing eye strain for users who spend long hours in front of screens.

The launch includes the ScreenBar Halo 2, along with the ScreenBar Pro in Black and Silver editions. The products were unveiled at a regional event held in Dubai.

New lighting range

The ScreenBar Halo 2 features a dual-light setup with both front and rear illumination. According to the company, the rear lighting is designed to reduce contrast between the screen and surrounding area, helping to ease visual fatigue during extended use.

The front light uses BenQ’s ASYM-Light technology, which is built to prevent glare on the screen and avoid direct light shining into the user’s eyes. The product was developed over four years.

Research-backed design

BenQ said the ScreenBar Halo 2 was developed following research carried out with the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology. The lighting system is designed to maintain an ANSI-standard luminance ratio of no more than 3:1 between the monitor and its surroundings.

“At BenQ Middle East, we are proud to introduce the ScreenBar Series to Dubai, a city that thrives on creativity and innovation,” said Manish Bakshi, Managing Director, BenQ Middle East.

“The ScreenBar Halo 2 and ScreenBar Pro are designed to deliver complete illumination and maximum comfort, empowering creators, gamers, and professionals to work and play with reduced eye strain and enhanced focus.”

Product features

The ScreenBar Pro Black and Silver editions use a gravity-based zinc alloy clamp that supports different monitor types, including curved and ultra-thin screens, without causing damage.

Both the Halo 2 and Pro models include features such as auto-dimming, automatic on and off functions, and memory settings that save user preferences.

Design collaboration

The ScreenBar Halo 2 was co-developed with MINIMAL Design, led by Scott Wilson, former Global Creative Director at Nike. BenQ said the metallic finish and minimalist profile are intended to suit modern home offices and studio environments and complement its existing monitor ranges.

“We know professionals demand precision in lighting,” said JC Pan, Chief Product Designer at BenQ Smart Lighting.

“That’s why we’ve re-engineered the controller, making it intuitive and precise. The anti-fingerprint coated wireless control dial lets users smoothly adjust brightness (0–100 per cent) and colour temperature (2700K–6500K), perfect for colour grading, content creation, or late-night work.”

Regional availability

Bakshi added: “Middle East is a hub for professionals and gamers who demand the best tools for performance and comfort. With the ScreenBar Series, we are delivering lighting solutions that adapt intelligently to user needs, ensuring healthier, more productive environments.”

The BenQ ScreenBar Series is now available on Amazon in the UAE and will be rolled out across other Middle East markets soon.
