Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has awarded the Dhs 798 million contract for the Al Qudra Street Development Project, aiming to improve traffic flow and reduce travel time across key areas in the emirate.

The project is set to benefit an estimated 400,000 residents and visitors by enhancing mobility and supporting urban growth.

Al Qudra Street Development Project

The project will significantly cut travel time on Al Qudra Street from 9.4 minutes to just 2.8 minutes. The expansion of 11.6 km and key road improvements will enhance the capacity of the street, ensuring smoother and faster travel for residents and visitors.

The Al Qudra Street Development Project includes upgrades to several major intersections. New bridges will be constructed, including a 600-metre bridge at the Arabian Ranches-Dubai Studio City intersection and a 700-metre bridge at the Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street intersection. The street’s capacity will be increased from 6,600 to 19,200 vehicles per hour, significantly reducing waiting times and improving traffic flow.

Improved connectivity

The project also focuses on better connectivity for surrounding development areas such as DAMAC Hills, Motor City, and The Sustainable City. Service roads will be added, and lanes will be expanded, enhancing access to these growing communities. Additionally, the project will improve the overall flow of traffic to and from Emirates Road, making travel more efficient for residents and commuters.

This development will not only make travel more efficient but will also stimulate economic growth in surrounding areas by enhancing connectivity and supporting urban expansion. With increased capacity, improved safety, and better road connections, the project will contribute to Dubai’s ongoing development and urbanization.
