Ajman Transport Authority has introduced a new digital taxi-hailing service in the emirate through the Yango app, aiming to enhance public mobility and support the emirate’s ongoing smart city initiatives.
Real-time ride tracking
Developed by the global tech firm Yango Group, the app allows users to book taxis, track rides in real time, and make digital payments.
The service is now active in Ajman and is part of the government’s wider strategy to adopt smart, integrated transport solutions.
Eng. Sami Ali Al Jallaf, Executive Director of the Public Transport and Licensing Agency, said the move supports the authority’s efforts to deliver “intelligent, sustainable transport solutions that meet the aspirations of the community.”
He noted that the initiative builds on a cooperation agreement signed with Yango, enabling the operation of smart taxis connected to the Authority’s digital infrastructure.
“This initiative contributes to improving customer experience, increasing responsiveness, and enhancing quality of life,” Al Jallaf added.
Private sector collaboration
The new service also reflects Ajman’s push to collaborate with private sector companies to strengthen digital infrastructure in public services.
