Following the inauguration of Surat Airport’s new international terminal by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Air India Express has achieved the milestone of being the first airline to start direct flights between Surat and Dubai.
Surat to Dubai flights
On Sunday, the inaugural flight, IX 173, departed from Surat to Dubai at 11:40 a.m., carrying 171 passengers.
Presently, Air India Express holds the distinction of being the sole airline offering international flights from Surat, operating five weekly flights to Sharjah.
The airline has released the schedule for its four weekly operations on the Surat-Dubai route.
“Surat holds great importance for Air India Express as we expand our network on the back of a new fleet. I am delighted that we are part of the moment when Surat International Airport is growing and unveiling its new terminal.
