Union Coop sees rise in online shoppers

The Dubai-based cooperative also recorded a 40% year-on-year increase in visitors to its digital channels, according to CEO Mohamed Al Hashemi. The figures point to increased use of online shopping for regular household needs.

Union Coop has introduced updates to its website and smart application, including improved search tools, more precise product filters and additional payment options, aimed at making it easier for customers to find products and complete purchases.

The platforms also include features that allow shoppers to track regular purchases and reorder frequently bought items without searching for them again.

Cashback and free delivery for members

Union Coop’s Unlimited membership programme offers 2% cashback on purchases and unlimited free delivery through its smart application, subject to terms and conditions.

The cooperative has also added promotions and app-exclusive offers as part of its efforts to attract customers to its digital channels.

Al Hashemi said the changes were intended to improve the entire online shopping process, from product selection and payment to delivery.

Fresh food remains popular online

Fresh produce, including fruits, vegetables, meat and fish, remains among the most sought-after categories on Union Coop’s digital platforms, alongside snacks.

The demand reflects the role of online grocery services in meeting routine household needs, with digital ordering allowing customers to manage recurring purchases through the cooperative’s website and application.

Union Coop said it would continue updating its digital services and offers to improve convenience and provide additional value to online shoppers.
