In a time of global uncertainty, Rizwan Sajan, Founder and Chairman of Danube Group, has expressed unwavering confidence in the city’s ability to weather crises and emerge stronger. Reflecting on over three decades in the city, Sajan spoke candidly about the resilience embedded in Dubai’s DNA and his commitment to its future growth.

‘We feel safe in Dubai’

“For over three decades, Dubai has been my home, and I will always stand by this extraordinary city. While no place in the world is perfect, even in challenging times like these, we continue to feel safe and secure in Dubai. We have overcome crises before – from the 2008 financial downturn to COVID – and have emerged stronger each time,” Sajan said.

Sajan highlighted the city’s robust ability to rebound from major challenges, noting the leadership’s consistent efforts to safeguard both citizens and expatriates. He emphasized the role of Dubai’s resilience in ensuring continued prosperity for businesses and residents alike.

“Resilience is embedded in Dubai’s DNA, and I am confident that our economy will continue to grow and thrive. Our leadership is doing everything possible to ensure that citizens and expats feel protected and at home,” Sajan added.

Supporting the community

As a testament to his commitment, Sajan revealed that Danube Group has been actively supporting the community during times of need. So far, we have been fortunate to accommodate more than 450 stranded people in Danube buildings and hotels. We will continue extending our support to many more in need,” he said.

Addressing concerns surrounding the real estate market, Sajan acknowledged that while uncertainty has surfaced, the impact is largely driven by sentiment rather than any significant structural change.

“At this stage, the impact appears to be driven more by sentiment than by any fundamental structural shift,” he said. “It would be premature to draw any long-term conclusions at this point.”

Despite the temporary challenges, Sajan remains steadfast in his belief that Dubai’s growth trajectory will remain strong and steady. “While developments like these can create temporary uncertainty, the underlying fundamentals remain resilient. I remain confident in a steady and sustainable path of growth ahead.”

With such an optimistic outlook, Sajan’s message serves as a reminder of the enduring spirit of Dubai, a city that continues to thrive in the face of adversity.
