Big Bad Wolf Dubai 2026

The 2026 Dubai edition of Big Bad Wolf Books has opened at the Sound Stage in Dubai Studio City, bringing more than one million books to readers across the UAE.

The 11-day sale runs until March 8 and is held in partnership with the Sharjah Book Authority and Dubai Culture & Arts Authority. Entry is free.

World’s largest book sale

Organisers say the event is the world’s largest book sale. Visitors can browse titles across fiction, non-fiction, children’s books, cookbooks, educational materials and self-development.

Discounts reach up to 95 per cent, with prices starting from Dhs2. The warehouse-style setup allows visitors to move freely between sections and explore different genres under one roof.

This year’s theme, “Beyond the Noise,” highlights the importance of focused reading in a digital age.

Andrew Yap, Co-founder of Big Bad Wolf Books, said: “We are proud to return to Dubai once again. ‘Beyond the Noise’ reflects what many people are feeling today: the need to slow down and reconnect with something deeper. Inside this venue, scrolling slows down and understanding begins. When access becomes easy and affordable, reading stops being an occasional purchase and becomes a sustainable family habit.”

Student discounts

Students and educators receive an additional five per cent discount on all English books sold by Big Bad Wolf Books. The offer applies with no minimum spend and requires a valid ID at checkout.

Organisers said the initiative aims to support schools and encourage the building of home and classroom libraries.

Taking place during Ramadan, the sale is positioned as a family-friendly destination. Dedicated children’s areas, activity spaces and workshops are part of the programme. A food truck zone is also available, allowing visitors to have Iftar or light meals while at the venue.

Writing contest

The event also features STAGE WRITE 2026, a 48-hour playwriting contest scheduled for February 28 from 10am to 12pm. Participants will register on-site, draw prompts and submit an original 10-minute play within 48 hours.

The winning entry will receive a Dhs500 cash voucher and a live adaptation at X Fest 2026 in collaboration with The Junction.

Shoppers who spend Dhs200 in a single receipt can enter a lucky draw to win prizes, including a MacBook Air. Vouchers worth Dhs1,000 are also available. The sale is open daily from 10am to 2am at the Sound Stage, Dubai Studio City. Entry is free.
