Dubai to auction 300 premium number plates in online auction

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced its 82nd online auction of premium vehicle number plates, offering 300 plates for private and classic vehicles, as well as motorcycles.

The auction will feature 2-, 3-, 4- and 5-digit number plates. Available plate codes include H, I, K, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y and Z. The plates cover both private and classic vehicle categories.

Registration and bidding

Registration for the online auction opens on Monday, February 2. Bidding will begin on Monday, February 9, and will run for seven days. A 5 per cent Value Added Tax (VAT) will apply to all plate sales. Participation is open to customers who have a traffic file in Dubai.

Participants must submit a security cheque of Dhs5,000 payable to RTA, along with a non-refundable registration fee of Dhs120. The registration fee can be paid at Customer Happiness Centres in Umm Ramool, Al Barsha and Deira, or online using a credit card through RTA’s website.

Payment rules

Successful bidders are required to complete payment within 10 working days after the auction closes. Payments can be made at authorised service provider centres, with cash accepted for amounts up to Dhs50,000. For amounts above Dhs50,000, payment must be made by manager’s cheque or credit card. Payments are also accepted at Customer Happiness Centres and through RTA’s website.
