Wio Bank has introduced a new banking account aimed at content creators and digital entrepreneurs, marking what it says is the UAE’s first account tailored specifically for this growing segment of the digital economy.
The announcement was made during the fourth edition of the 1 Billion Followers Summit, held in Dubai and organised by the UAE Government Media Office. The event focuses on the global content creation economy and is held under the theme “Content for Good”.
Creator-focused features
According to Wio Bank, the new account is designed to support income management, payments and day-to-day business operations for content creators. Launched in partnership with Visa, the account can be opened within 72 hours and is fully digital and multi-currency, with no minimum balance requirement.
Amina Taher, Chief Marketing Officer of Wio Bank, said the bank’s participation in the summit for the second year helped shape the product through direct engagement with creators.
She said: “The account enables content creators to work efficiently on a global level and gives them true financial independence”.
Taher noted that many content creators face challenges when opening traditional business bank accounts and often rely on personal accounts instead. She explained that the new offering includes tools to manage bills and business activities without the need for an accountant, based on insights gathered from creators during the previous edition of the summit.
The 1 Billion Followers Summit brings together more than 15,000 content creators and influencers, along with over 500 speakers. Organisers say the combined global following of participants exceeds 3.5 billion people worldwide.
