DMCC unveils world’s largest silver bar in Dubai

DMCC has introduced what has been confirmed as the world’s largest silver bar, a 1,971-kg piece officially recognised by Guinness World Records and presented during the Dubai Precious Metals Conference.

Record-setting silver bar

Revealed on 24 November, the silver bar reflects the founding year of the UAE and was highlighted as a symbol of national ambition and craftsmanship. The project involved several industry partners across production, tokenisation and secure storage.

Tokenisation plan

DMCC said the bar will be tokenised through its Tradeflow platform, marking the first time a Guinness-recognised precious metal bar will be converted into digital tokens under a regulated structure. Sam Precious Metals produced the bar, Tokinvest will manage the tokenisation process as a VARA-regulated platform, and Brink’s will provide storage and logistics.

Ahmed bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman and CEO of DMCC, said, “The 13th edition of the Dubai Precious Metals Conference has been marked by new records, highlighted by the unveiling of the world’s largest silver bar – a 1,971 kg, 1.3-metre-long bar that has set a Guinness World Record and honours the UAE’s ambition and craftsmanship.”

He said the initiative supports DMCC’s mission to link trade, commodities, finance and technology through trusted frameworks.

Scott Thiel, Co-Founder and CEO of Tokinvest, said, “Tokenising a Guinness-record-breaking bar of silver, weighing 1,971kg to mark the formation of the UAE, is not only an honour but a milestone for the entire RWA industry. Precious metals have always been a trusted store of value, but access has traditionally been limited. This project brings a globally significant artefact into the hands of everyday investors.”

Sami Abu Ahmad, Chairman of Sam Precious Metals, said, “Creating the world’s largest silver bar is a celebration of craftsmanship, innovation and the UAE’s spirit of ambition. Partnering with Tokinvest and DMCC allows us to take this achievement further – transforming a symbol of national pride into a digital asset that represents the next evolution of precious metals investment.”

Growing ecosystem

The announcement follows DMCC’s recent partnership with the Dubai Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority, which aims to support secure frameworks for tokenised commodities. DMCC now hosts more than 1,500 companies in its precious metals ecosystem and over 700 Web3 and blockchain firms in its Crypto Centre, positioning it as a hub for asset-backed digital instruments.
