Four month rent wavier
These businesses will have their rent waived for four months—from June through September 2025—to help offset the potential impact on footfall and the terrace dining experience during the fountain’s shutdown.
New attractions at Dubai Mall
To enhance the area and maintain visitor engagement despite the closure, Emaar is also rolling out new attractions. A 400-metre stretch of cutting-edge digital screens will be installed along the promenade, featuring engaging visual content aimed at keeping the area lively and supporting retailers.
The terraces that overlook the Dubai Fountain have long been a favorite spot for diners, offering front-row seats to the fountain’s spectacular shows and scenic views of the lake. These elements have played a key role in attracting visitors and shaping the vibrant atmosphere of the location.
“For years, Dubai Fountain and surrounding lake have contributed significantly to the popularity of these destinations,” said Mohamed Alabbar.
“As we move into a new chapter, this rent support reflects our commitment to long-term partnerships and to helping tenants navigate this transition with resilience and confidence.”
Despite the temporary changes, Emaar emphasized that the terraces at Dubai Mall and Souk Al Bahar still provide unmatched city views, world-class cuisine, and a unique atmosphere. With rent support and digital enhancements in place, tenants are expected to continue offering memorable experiences to guests.
Emaar Malls reaffirmed its commitment to empowering businesses with sustainable solutions that promote growth and deliver value across its retail communities.
