Wego, Visit Qatar team up to attract regional tourists

Wego has announced a partnership with Visit Qatar aimed at promoting Qatar as a travel destination for audiences across the Middle East and North Africa.

The collaboration focuses on highlighting the country’s cultural attractions, natural landscapes and modern lifestyle experiences.

The joint campaign targets regional travellers seeking short-haul trips that combine culture, comfort and accessibility, according to the companies.

Partnership announced

Wego said the campaign will present Qatar as more than a stopover destination, encouraging travellers to explore its neighbourhoods, heritage sites and outdoor locations. The initiative showcases a mix of traditional and contemporary experiences, reflecting changing travel preferences across the region.

Qatar experiences

The campaign features key attractions including Souq Waqif, the Museum of Islamic Art, Lusail, the Corniche and Katara. It also highlights Msheireb Downtown, local cuisine such as machboos and seafood, and natural sites like the Inland Sea, where desert dunes meet the coastline.

Mamoun Hmidan, Chief Business Officer at Wego, said: “This partnership with Visit Qatar allows us to spotlight the country’s remarkable evolution as a travel destination. Our campaign is designed to engage travelers at every stage from inspiration to planning and booking through rich content and seamless tools. Qatar offers something for everyone: thriving cultural quarters, pristine beaches, exceptional cuisine, and a calendar full of world-class events. We’re excited to connect our users to the experiences that make Qatar both distinctive and unforgettable.”

Saleh Al-Nisf, MEA & Africa Senior Manager at Visit Qatar, said: “Our collaboration with Wego is a key step in amplifying Qatar’s presence in the regional travel landscape. Through this joint campaign, we are showcasing the country’s unique offering, from cultural sites and coastal retreats to desert experiences, in ways that resonate with regional audiences, supported by intuitive travel-planning tools.”

Regional travel demand

Wego and Visit Qatar said interest in destinations within the GCC and wider MENA region continues to grow, driven by demand for culturally rich and easily accessible travel options. Qatar’s transport infrastructure, compact geography and expanding flight connections were cited as factors supporting this trend.

The campaign aims to build awareness of Qatar’s offerings while supporting travellers through the planning and booking process.
