Up to Dhs1,000 fine for late application to renew Emirates ID

UAE residents who are late in renewing their Emirates ID cards after 30 days from the expiry date will be subject to a fine of Dhs20 per day, with a maximum fine of Dhs1,000, according to Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security (ICP).

Exemptions to this fine include people of determination and heads and members of diplomatic and consular missions, international organizations inside the country and other specific categories.

These customers can apply for an exemption through the ICP’s website or smart app, UAE ICP.

Customers can apply for the service through their personal account or through ICP-approved typing centers.

The service fee is Dhs250, including Dhs100 for the ID card fee, Dhs100 for smart services fee and Dhs50 for electronic services fee.

Customers interested in obtaining an urgent service will have to pay an additional Dhs150.

To apply, customers need to fill in their personal information, attach the required documents (color photo and passport copy), and pay the fee.

They can apply through the website by logging in with their UAE Pass or username, or visit a customer happiness center or typing office to submit their application.
