Union Properties breaks ground on Dhs2 billion Mirdad project in Dubai Motor City

Union Properties PJSC has started construction on Mirdad, a Dhs 2 billion residential project in Dubai Motor City. The development marks the company’s second major project in the area and forms part of its ongoing expansion plans in Dubai’s real estate sector.

Mirdad will include four residential towers built on a total area of 356,931 square feet. The project will deliver 1,087 residential units, including apartments and a limited number of lofts. The buildings are designed to maximise natural light and offer views across the surrounding Motor City area.

Location: Dubai Motor City

The project is located in the centre of Dubai Motor City, close to existing retail and leisure facilities and near two planned public parks. It sits between Al Maktoum International Airport and Dubai International Airport, offering road access to key areas of the city.

Residents will have access to more than 26 indoor and outdoor amenities. The development will include green spaces, smart building systems and electric vehicle charging infrastructure. Of the 1,294 planned parking spaces, 647 will be equipped with EV chargers. Energy-efficient materials and building systems are also planned as part of the design.

Construction timeline

Early construction works include the excavation of 446,000 cubic metres of soil and the installation of a 716-metre shoring boundary. The project is scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2028.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Union Properties chairman Mohamed Fardan Ali Al Fardan, vice chairman Abdul Wahab Al Halabi, chief executive officer and board member Eng. Amer Khansaheb, along with other board members.
