Etihad Airways has announced a major milestone in job creation, with over 2,000 new hires and 1,500 promotions in 2024, bringing the airline’s total workforce to over 11,000 employees.
This growth underscores Etihad’s continued commitment to building a strong, diverse team and supporting the UAE talent strategy, with over 70 Emirati cadet pilots graduating and a 20% representation of UAE Nationals in the workforce.

In addition to this job growth, Etihad Airways achieved remarkable financial and operational success. The airline posted a profit after tax of Dhs 1.7 billion (U.S.$ 476 million), driven by Dhs 20.8 billion (U.S.$ 5.7 billion) in passenger revenue and Dhs 4.2 billion (U.S.$ 1.1 billion) in cargo revenue. Etihad’s passenger numbers surged by 32% to 18.5 million, and the airline expanded its fleet, adding 12 new aircraft, including six A320 NEOs.
These developments, along with an increased network of 80 destinations, reflect Etihad’s ongoing growth and commitment to operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and sustainability.
