In an announcement by the Department of Human Resources, Sharjah has officially marked January 1, 2024, as the New Year’s holiday for all government departments, bodies, and institutions in the emirate. This means that government employees in Sharjah will enjoy a four-day weekend, with regular working hours set to resume on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.
This aligns with the nationwide holiday declared by the federal government and the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, providing a three-day weekend for employees across both public and private sectors in the country.
Adding to the celebration, Dubai has also declared a paid holiday for its government sector on January 1, 2024, offering a generous break for government employees in the city.
