GOTECH 2024 kicks off in Dubai

Under the patronage and presence of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, the GOTECH 2024 Conference and Exhibition kicked off on Tuesday in Dubai.

The event, themed “Advancing Sustainable Energy” through innovation and collaboration, brings together select thought leaders and influencers in the global energy industry. It runs from May 7 to May 9 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, organized by Dragon Oil International, which is fully owned by the Dubai government.


Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum attended the GOTECH 2024 Sustainable Energy Conference and Exhibition, touring the platforms of participating thought leaders, industry experts, and high-level academics.

He emphasised the importance of this global conference and exhibition in reshaping the future of modern industry and technology, noting its significant opportunity for fruitful economic and investment partnerships in the renewable and alternative energy sectors. This aligns with Dubai’s vision to host such international conferences, positioning the Emirate at the forefront of leading nations in this field, fostering cooperation and knowledge exchange among all stakeholders in this vital sector.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy and Chairman of Dragon Oil, expressed his deepest thanks and appreciation to Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum for his attendance and patronage of this important conference, which enhances value projects and initiatives for the energy sector in the Emirate of Dubai.

GOTECH aims to discuss issues of common interest and exchange ideas and experiences between oil and gas organisations and administrations in many oil projects, as well as discuss oil industry indicators, current oil market prices, renewable energy transformation, and technological innovation.

Al Tayer emphasised that the conference is in line with Dubai’s strategy to uphold sustainability principles, an exceptional milestone in international climate action, reflecting the wise vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE,  and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in the UAE’s commitment to enhancing international cooperation in the field of climate action.

He further noted that the launch of the GOTECH conference agenda is a prominent global experience that brings together key figures such as government officials, industry leaders, members of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), members of the International Association of Oil and Gas Producers (IOGP), partners, universities, oil and gas experts, artificial intelligence specialists, production technology, and the wider energy sector under one umbrella and a joint working environment to expand business opportunities and enter untapped markets worldwide.

The conference’s goal is to address industry challenges, provide recommendations and solutions in the oil and gas sector, and showcase the latest technologies and scientific studies in this field.
