Dubai continues to maintain stable supplies of fresh fruits and vegetables despite ongoing pressure on global shipping routes, according to members of the Fruit and Vegetable Traders Business Group under Dubai Chamber of Commerce.

Industry representatives said strong infrastructure, efficient logistics networks and close coordination between the public and private sectors have helped ensure consistent availability of food products across the emirate.

Supply stability

Traders confirmed that supply levels remain sufficient to meet local demand, supported by diversified sourcing and alternative shipping routes. The sector has also improved transport and storage efficiency, helping maintain a steady flow of goods.

Dubai’s role as a trade hub continues to support imports and re-exports, with smooth cargo movement across ports and logistics centres.

Logistics strength

Redha Al Mansouri, Chairman of the Fruit and Vegetable Traders Business Group and CEO of Fresh Fruits Company, said Dubai’s integrated logistics system has played a key role in maintaining supply.

He said: “Under the guidance of the UAE leadership, Dubai Customs, DP World, and other port and logistics stakeholders implemented timely facilitation measures that enabled smooth cargo movement through alternative corridors into Jebel Ali and the free zones.”

He added: “In the near term, while global logistics conditions remain dynamic, the sector has effectively adapted through flexible routing, alternative entry points, and close coordination with logistics partners. These measures have ensured that the availability of fresh produce in the local market remains consistent in terms of volume, quality, and price stability. Looking ahead, the outlook remains positive. The sector is well-positioned to respond to seasonal demand fluctuations and evolving market conditions, supported by strong infrastructure, efficient supply chain management, and continued facilitation from government authorities. Additionally, the depth of experience within the trading community enables proactive planning and rapid responses to emerging challenges.”

He further said: “Overall, the UAE market continues to be well-supplied, and we are confident in the sector’s ability to maintain continuity, competitive pricing, and meet consumer demand reliably in both the short and long term.”

Government role

Officials highlighted the role of government entities in reducing supply chain disruptions by speeding up customs clearance and improving cargo handling processes.

Support from authorities, along with measures to monitor pricing and maintain market balance, has helped strengthen confidence across the sector.

Sector resilience

Mohammed Nassar Al Rifai, CEO of NRTC Group, said Dubai has maintained strong supply chain performance through effective coordination and flexible regulations.

Abdelghani Abdullah, General Manager of IFFCO Group, noted that integrated transport networks and efficient customs procedures have supported continuity in trade.

Ammar Bakri, CEO of Al Bakrawe Holding, added: “Al Bakrawe has also contributed to logistics services, where we relied on land transportation using our own trucks to secure the supply of onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, and potatoes.”

Market outlook

Industry leaders said the outlook remains stable, supported by diversified import sources, strong infrastructure and ongoing government support.

Ali Arjomandi, CEO of Marhaba MTA General Trading, said Dubai’s coordinated approach has helped prevent disruptions and maintain consistent supply levels across the market.
