Sharjah Coop launches Dhs35 million Ramadan discounts, slashes prices up to 75%

Sharjah Coop has announced the allocation of Dhs 35 million to support over 10,000 essential consumer items during the Holy Month of Ramadan. The move is part of the cooperative’s annual “Ramadan Togetherness” campaign, aimed at easing living expenses for residents and citizens across the Emirate.

Campaign scope and discounts

The “Ramadan Togetherness” initiative offers special promotions and discounts of up to 75% on a wide range of food, grocery, and consumer products. The campaign is active across more than 75 Sharjah Coop retail outlets and its online store, ensuring broad accessibility for all consumers.

Majid Salem Al Junaid, CEO of Sharjah Coop, extended his congratulations and best wishes to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and to His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, on the occasion of Ramadan. Al Junaid also acknowledged the ongoing support provided by the Emirate’s leadership to Sharjah Coop.

He said the campaign aligns with the directives of the Cooperative’s Board of Directors and reflects its commitment to reducing financial burdens on both citizens and residents.

Faisal Khalid Al Naboodah, Director of Marketing and Public Relations at Sharjah Coop, highlighted that the campaign covers more than just essential items like rice, cooking oil, sugar, and flour. “People will have big discounts on different types of other items as well,” he said.

He added that the total support for the community has been increased this year. “Our support will continue until the end of Ramadan. That’s why we increased the amount by Dh5 million this year, alongside prizes,” Al Naboodah said.

Promotional timeline

The campaign began at the end of January with initial offers, followed by “Ahlan Ramadan” promotions on a broad selection of products. Additional offers will start one week before Ramadan, featuring discounts exceeding 75% on essential goods. Diverse promotions will continue throughout the month to ensure consistent value for consumers.

As part of the Sharjah Ramadan promotions organized by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sharjah Coop is also offering 65 prizes, including five luxury cars, 30 furniture vouchers, and 30 gift cards. Customers who spend Dhs 200 or more at any branch in Sharjah City, the Eastern Region, or the Central Region—or via the online store or mobile app—are eligible to enter the draw.

Ramadan baskets and stock preparation

Sharjah Coop has introduced three Ramadan basket options priced between Dhs 99 and Dhs 399, offering approximately 50% discounts. The baskets include staple items such as rice, sugar, flour, cooking oil, juices, and other essential products, available both in-store and online.

To meet the expected demand during Ramadan, the Coop has ensured sufficient stock of essential items at carefully studied prices, allowing customers to access products in large quantities throughout the Holy Month.

Al Junaid highlighted that Sharjah Coop is working with several charitable organizations to distribute Ramadan food supplies to beneficiary families through comprehensive food baskets.

Ramadan Market

Additionally, a Ramadan Market will be held at Rahmania Mall for the entire month, featuring more than 100 local projects. The initiative aims to support national and resident entrepreneurs, providing a platform to showcase their products. Children’s activities, including handicrafts workshops and Islamic-themed competitions, will also be organized, with winners honored during the final week of Ramadan.

Sharjah Coop Café will participate by preparing and distributing Ramadan meals to fasting individuals throughout the month, reinforcing the cooperative’s role in community support during Ramadan.

Through these initiatives, Sharjah Coop reinforces its commitment to stabilizing markets, supporting families, empowering local enterprises, and contributing to sustainable development across the Emirate of Sharjah.
