Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will open a new exit in early August aimed at easing traffic congestion in the Ras Al Khor area. The new exit will allow vehicles traveling from Financial Centre Street to access Ras Al Khor Road, improving connectivity near the Bu Kadra Interchange.

Traffic flow improvement

This initiative is part of RTA’s Rapid Traffic Solutions Plan, which seeks to enhance the city’s road network efficiency. The new exit is expected to reduce travel time for vehicles using the collector road towards Ras Al Khor Road, particularly during peak hours. With the introduction of this new exit, travel time is set to decrease by 54%, from 13 minutes to just 6 minutes.

Recent upgrades in Ras Al Khor

The new exit is part of a broader series of upgrades in the Ras Al Khor area. One notable recent improvement includes the widening of Exit 25 from Ras Al Khor Road to Al Khail Road, which has increased its capacity from a single lane to two lanes over a 500-meter stretch. This upgrade allows for the movement of 3,000 vehicles per hour, significantly reducing queues and cutting peak-period travel time from 7 minutes to 4 minutes.

These improvements are aligned with Dubai’s ongoing urban development and efforts to enhance road infrastructure to keep pace with the city’s growth.
