After more than three decades working in the global textured haircare industry, Harsha Bagia has launched Queeny Cazara, a new professional haircare brand headquartered in Dubai.
The brand focuses on scalp sensitivity and care for textured and African hair, drawing from Bagia’s long-standing experience in product distribution and salon education.
Focus on scalp health
Bagia, who has been a key distributor of African hair products across multiple markets, observed a shift in consumer needs following the COVID-19 pandemic. She noted that more women began embracing their natural textures while also expressing concerns about scalp health, sensitivity, and hair thinning.
In response, she developed Queeny Cazara as a line of professional products aimed at balancing performance and scalp comfort.
“The beauty of a woman begins with the confidence she carries in her hair,” said Harsha Bagia, founder of Queeny Cazara. “This brand is my legacy, a promise that textured hair can be both natural and nurtured.”
Product development
One of the brand’s flagship products is the Queeny Cazara Relaxer, formulated over two years to minimise scalp irritation, a common issue with traditional relaxers. The product is free from ammonia and incorporates Argan, Coconut, and Olive oils. It is designed to work in 10 to 15 minutes while maintaining hair moisture and avoiding burn or discomfort.
The wider range includes several targeted collections using plant-based ingredients. These include rosemary and mint for cooling care, coconut and shea butter for hydration, and batana oil for growth support. A trio-oil blend series and a professional mousse are also part of the line-up.
Regional growth plans
Queeny Cazara recently received the “Most Innovative Product in Haircare” award at the Africa International Hair & Beauty Fair (AIHBF) in South Africa. The brand has begun expanding across markets in Dubai, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and South Africa, with plans for broader international reach.
The name “Queeny” was chosen to reflect empowerment and self-worth, according to the company. Bagia’s launch of the brand marks a continuation of her long-term goal to provide effective and scalp-safe haircare solutions for textured hair.
