In a tweet, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation shared the news, stating, “The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation announces that Monday, 1 January 2024, will be New Year’s Day paid holiday for all private sector employees in the UAE.”

Federal government employees are also in for a treat, as the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources announced a similar holiday advisory via Instagram, designating January 1, Monday, as a day off.

Looking ahead to 2024, UAE residents can anticipate a total of at least 13 public holidays, as revealed by the country’s Cabinet last month. Notably, four out of the seven official occasions could lead to extended weekends, offering the possibility of a remarkable six-day break at its longest.

It’s shaping up to be a year filled with well-deserved breaks and opportunities for festive celebrations in the UAE.
