The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has recognised the efforts of 2,172 taxi drivers in the emirate under its “Road Ambassadors” initiative, which rewards drivers who demonstrate adherence to laws, maintain cleanliness, and show integrity, such as returning lost items to their rightful owners.
Recognition for good conduct
The initiative is part of RTA’s wider strategy to improve customer service, enhance the reputation of the public transport sector, and motivate drivers to uphold high standards. The honoured drivers have been commended for their conduct, which includes maintaining clean vehicles and demonstrating courteous behaviour toward passengers.
Ahmed Bahrozyan, CEO of RTA’s Public Transport Agency, shared details of the initiative: “The recognition covered 2,172 drivers in 2024 and up to the first half of this year. The initiative has fostered a spirit of healthy competition among drivers and operating companies to achieve the highest standards of service quality and excellence.”
Fostering competition and improving service
Bahrozyan added that the programme has contributed to improved customer satisfaction and enhanced the overall travel experience in Dubai. He noted that it plays a significant role in promoting traffic safety and awareness, and has helped improve the quality of life for residents by offering safer and more comfortable transportation options.
The RTA also highlighted that the success of the initiative reflects the growing efficiency of the public transport sector, which continues to meet the increasing demand for mass transit across the emirate.
A gesture of appreciation
The drivers who received recognition expressed gratitude for the RTA’s initiative, noting that it reinforces their commitment to ensuring customer satisfaction and abiding by the authority’s regulations. This move also emphasizes the RTA’s ongoing efforts to support and care for its drivers, while encouraging them to remain role models of good behaviour in the community.
The “Road Ambassadors” programme continues to serve as a source of motivation for drivers, setting an example of how dedication to service excellence benefits both passengers and the wider community.
