As the UAE continues to expand its clean mobility sector, OMODA&JAECOO have introduced a new hybrid system designed to improve driving efficiency and performance in local conditions.
The company’s SHS (Super Hybrid System) combines petrol and electric power to deliver smoother acceleration, quieter driving and reduced fuel use. The system is built to switch between electric and engine modes as needed, aiming to support both urban commutes and long-distance routes across the UAE.
According to the company, SHS is designed to offer electric driving when possible while maintaining the extended range of a conventional engine, addressing concerns about charging access during longer journeys.
Dubai event planned
OMODA&JAECOO will host an SHS Night event in Dubai in mid-January, where it will display several new-energy models. These include the JAECOO J7 SHS, JAECOO J8 SHS, OMODA C7 SHS and OMODA C5 HEV. The company will also launch the JAECOO J8 SHS during the event, giving UAE customers their first look at the model.
The brand says SHS has achieved strong global results in performance, range and energy consumption. The technology has undergone long-distance testing in 16 countries, including more than 100,000 km of real-world evaluation for the JAECOO J7 SHS. The testing has focused on efficiency, power delivery and long-range reliability, areas noted as important for GCC drivers.
OMODA&JAECOO stated that their development strategy is guided by innovation and sustainability, with plans to introduce more hybrid solutions suited to Middle East conditions. The company says it aims to strengthen both the OMODA crossover line and the JAECOO premium off-road brand as part of its long-term global expansion.
The brand added that its SHS technology is intended to support the UAE’s wider shift toward cleaner and more advanced mobility.
