Drawing parallels to marital relationships, Khaleel provided a metaphorical insight into the complexities of diplomatic relations, emphasizing the importance of reconciliation amidst challenges.
“Let me tell you one thing,” Khaleel began, drawing a metaphorical comparison. “Maldives and India are like a married couple, right? Like any marriage, we sometimes face issues. But just because we have problems, it doesn’t mean we give up on the relationship. We work towards reconciliation.”
Highlighting recent developments, he emphasized ongoing efforts to mend relations between the two nations.
“The meeting of top officials from both countries sends a strong message of our desire for cordial relations,” he stated.
“Last month, the Indian Government increased the import quota to Maldives by 20%, indicating a willingness to address concerns.”
