Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), in partnership with Etihad Rail, has opened a brand-new 1.8-kilometre flyover on Al Yalayis Street.
The project features three lanes and signal-controlled access, aiming to ease traffic flow to and from Dubai Investment Park.
The new flyover includes dedicated right-turn slip roads for vehicles entering the Dubai Investment Park and those heading towards Sheikh Zayed Road. These additions are expected to reduce congestion and improve safety for daily commuters.
Trains and traffic, separated and safe
Designed with the UAE’s national railway in mind, the flyover allows trains to run smoothly within the median of Al Yalayis Street. This smart infrastructure ensures that both vehicle and train traffic stay completely separated, enhancing safety and flow for both modes of transport.
The project is a key milestone in the collaboration between RTA and Etihad Rail to support the UAE’s growing rail network. It plays a central role in boosting sustainable transport by improving the movement of both people and goods through modern, integrated systems.
More road enhancements on the horizon
Looking ahead, the flyover will be extended towards Jumeirah Golf Estates. A new two-lane road in each direction is also planned to boost road connectivity and keep traffic moving in this vital area of the city.
With better traffic flow, safer roads, and more efficient transport links, the new flyover supports Dubai’s long-term goals of connectivity, safety, and sustainable urban growth.
Etihad Rail has reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with UAE authorities to meet global standards in transport and logistics.
