In a bid to enhance road safety and ensure smoother traffic flow, the Sharjah Roads Transportation Authority, in collaboration with the General Command of Sharjah Police, has announced a reduction in the speed limit on certain stretches of Al Ittihad Road and Al Wahda Road.
Effective immediately, the speed limit on this section has been decreased from 100km/h to 80km/h.

This adjustment applies specifically to the area spanning from the interchange near Abu Shaghara on Al Wahda Road to Al Taawun Bridge on Al Ittihad Road. The decision comes as part of ongoing efforts to optimize traffic management and improve overall road safety within the emirate.
The Authority, through its official channels, emphasized the importance of adhering to the revised speed limits for the benefit of all road users. This latest measure follows similar initiatives, such as the reduction of speed limits between the Sharjah-Dubai border and Al Garhoud Bridge in Dubai, which was announced back in November 2023.
By implementing these changes, authorities aim to create a safer and more efficient driving environment for residents and visitors alike.
