Dubai-based investment firm Shamal has awarded the main construction contract for Dubai Harbour Residences to Khansaheb Civil Engineering.

The contract, valued at over Dhs 1 billion, signals the beginning of full-scale development on the beachfront residential project.

Main construction begins

Khansaheb, one of the region’s leading contractors, will carry out the next phase of construction following the completion of foundational works and beachfront formation.

The firm is known for its work on several high-profile developments in Dubai.

Dubai Harbour Residences is being developed in partnership with H&H and designed by Japanese architecture firm Nikken Sekkei. The low-rise project aims to offer modern beachfront living, featuring sea and skyline views.

Collaboration with key partners

“At Shamal, we are committed to shaping the future of urban living through long-term investments that redefine how people engage with the city,” said Abdulla Binhabtoor, Chief Executive Officer, Shamal. “The commencement of main works at Dubai Harbour Residences marks a significant milestone in our journey to create new vibrant communities and world-class destinations.”

Tariq Khansaheb, Chairman of Khansaheb Civil Engineering, added, “We are proud to partner with Shamal on this visionary project to bring to life beachfront living like never before, that reflects a shared commitment to excellence and innovation.”

H&H CEO Miltos Bossinis commented, “The appointment of Khansaheb as the main works contractor marks a step forward in the development of the iconic Dubai Harbour Residences.”

Enhancing connectivity

Located in one of Dubai’s key coastal districts, Dubai Harbour blends residential, retail, hospitality, and maritime elements. The area includes an award-winning marina, high-end dining options, and panoramic sea views.

To improve access, a new 1,500-metre bridge is under construction in partnership with Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). The bridge will link Dubai Harbour directly to Sheikh Zayed Road, reducing travel time for residents and visitors.

The development supports Dubai’s Urban Master Plan 2040 and reflects Shamal’s long-term commitment to investing in integrated, sustainable communities.

“Dubai Harbour is a landmark destination, purposefully designed to connect people to the sea and to one another,” said Binhabtoor.

“Our investment is rooted in delivering the extraordinary through purposeful moments we curate for ultimate maritime lifestyle.”

Shamal continues to lead development at Dubai Harbour alongside international partners, aiming to set a new benchmark for coastal living in the UAE.
