Jazeera Airways has relaunched direct services from Kuwait to both Al Ain International Airport and Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi, with inaugural flights completed on October 2.
The Kuwait-based airline will operate two flights per week to each destination from Kuwait International Airport, boosting air links between the UAE and Kuwait and supporting increased travel, tourism and trade.
Al Ain route
Al Ain, known as the UAE’s “garden city,” is gaining attention as a growing cultural and economic hub. With its UNESCO World Heritage Sites and historical significance, the city has become a priority in Abu Dhabi Airports’ strategy to develop secondary gateways.
“Jazeera Airways’ return is testament to the strength and attractiveness of the airports we operate across the emirate,” said Elena Sorlini, Managing Director and CEO of Abu Dhabi Airports.
She added, “Welcoming direct service back to Al Ain is especially significant, as the city plays a central role in our strategy to develop vibrant gateways that stimulate investment, attract tourism, and connect communities.”
Boost to regional travel
The new connections are expected to enhance passenger flows and promote cooperation across sectors between the UAE and Kuwait. The flights also support Abu Dhabi’s broader goal of improving regional accessibility and showcasing the Al Ain region’s economic potential.
Barathan Pasupathi, CEO of Jazeera Airways, said: “Our return to Abu Dhabi and Al Ain reflects our commitment to providing travellers more affordable and convenient options across the region. We are especially pleased to serve Al Ain, a city of cultural and economic significance, and to play a role in its exciting growth story.”
Expanding Gulf network
The airline’s return to the UAE capital contributes to its wider Gulf network strategy. By restoring these links, Jazeera Airways strengthens its regional footprint while offering passengers more travel options and supporting the emirate’s position as a growing tourism and business destination.
