Emirati singer Hussain Al Jassmi opened the Layali Al Eid celebrations in the capital with a full-house concert at Space42 Arena on Al Raha Beach.
The performance marked the start of the Eid programme, drawing strong audience turnout and setting the tone for the festivities.
Popular songs
Al Jassmi performed a range of well-known tracks, including “Boshret Kheir”, “Meshta’ak”, “Bel Bont El Areedh” and “Fegadtek”. The audience remained engaged throughout the show, singing along and creating a lively atmosphere.
One of the highlights of the evening was his performance of “Hami Al Diyar”, which saw audience members join in as the lyrics reflected national pride and appreciation for the UAE leadership led by Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Cultural tribute
The concert also featured a rendition of the poem “Ana Laha Shams”, written by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, adding a cultural element to the programme.
Marking Mother’s Day, Al Jassmi performed “Omi Jannah”, which stood out as one of the most emotional moments of the night.
Speaking ahead of the concert, Al Jassmi said: “Our role, whether in media or music, is to share messages that promote security, peace, and reassurance among people. We are grateful to Abu Dhabi for hosting this beautiful evening as part of Layali Al Eid. The event is distinguished by its strong audience engagement and organisation.”
“Our message is always to love your country, appreciate your family, and spread kindness among people.”
He concluded the evening with a message of unity, noting that everyone in the UAE is Emirati, reflecting the country’s values of inclusion and coexistence.
Layali Al Eid will continue in Abu Dhabi, with Egyptian singer Ahmed Saad scheduled to perform at Space42 Arena later on March 22, bringing the programme to a close.
