Global test drive highlights OMODA&JAECOO hybrid efficiency

OMODA&JAECOO highlighted its latest hybrid technology during the International User Summit 2025 in Wuhu, China, where media teams from ten countries, including the UAE, joined a 600 km cross-border test drive.

Hybrid test drive

The “Ten-Nation Hybrid Marathon” allowed participants to evaluate three models — OMODA 5 SHS-H, JAECOO 5 SHS-H (HEV), and OMODA 7 SHS-P (PHEV) — across city roads, highways, and mountain routes. The OMODA 7 SHS-P recorded a combined range of 1,192 km with average fuel use of 4.8L/100km.

The vehicles run on a fifth-generation 1.5T hybrid engine with 44.5% thermal efficiency. The SHS system combines a hybrid-dedicated engine, electric DHT, and a battery offering up to 90 km EV-only range (WLTP) with 3.3 kW external discharge.

Cabin and performance

Noise-reduction features such as ENC and dual-layer glass helped keep the cabin quiet, with UAE media describing the drive as “luxurious, effortless, and ideal for long commutes.” The OMODA 5 SHS-H delivers 165 kW power and 310 Nm torque, with a top speed of 175 km/h.

Held under the theme “CO-CREATE · CO-DEFINE,” the summit also featured the debut of AiMOGA, an intelligent robot developed by OMODA&JAECOO. The company says the test results reflect its focus on efficient and connected mobility as it expands across the UAE.
