UAE telecom operator du has launched a football-themed campaign featuring a match prediction game on its mobile app and virtual reality (VR) penalty shootout experiences at selected stores across the UAE.
The campaign runs until July 19 and is open to du customers aged 18 and above.
Prediction game
Participants can join the competition through the du App by creating a username and predicting the results of football matches during the tournament.
Players earn points for correct predictions and move up a live leaderboard. Four winners will receive a new smartphone at each stage of the competition, while one overall winner will receive a BYD Ti 7 car.
To qualify for the grand prize, participants must submit their prediction for the tournament final between July 4 and July 13. For all other matches, predictions must be made at least two hours before the first match of each match day.
Prize winners will be announced and rewards distributed in August.
VR experience
As part of the campaign, du is also hosting VR penalty shootout experiences at selected retail stores.
Participants can register at the store before taking part in a virtual penalty shootout using VR technology. Winners will receive themed prizes.
The activations will take place at Delma Mall in Abu Dhabi on July 4 and 5, Ajman City Centre on July 11 and 12, and Mall of the Emirates in Dubai on July 18 and 19.
