Etihad Airways has announced a new seasonal service connecting Abu Dhabi with Dhaka, Bangladesh, starting June 26, 2026. The move comes in response to steady demand for both passenger travel and cargo between the two countries.
Route details
The four-times weekly service will operate to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, improving air links between Abu Dhabi and Bangladesh. The route is expected to support travel demand while also boosting cargo movement across Etihad’s network.
Flights will be operated using a Boeing 777 aircraft, offering 28 Business and 374 Economy seats. The airline said the aircraft’s cargo capacity will help meet growing demand for goods transport on this route.
Trade and cargo
The new service is aimed at strengthening trade links, particularly as Bangladesh continues to grow as a manufacturing hub. The route is expected to support key export sectors, including textiles, by improving access to markets in the Middle East, Europe and North America.
Abu Dhabi will continue to serve as a transit hub, connecting cargo and passengers between South Asia and other global destinations.
Antonoaldo Neves, Etihad’s Chief Executive Officer, said: “Dhaka is a strategically important market, with strong and sustained demand across both passenger and cargo segments. This service allows us to deploy capacity where it is most needed, strengthening links between Bangladesh, the UAE and key global markets.

Community links
The UAE is home to a large Bangladeshi population, and the new route is expected to improve travel options for families. The airline said the service is part of its broader plan to expand capacity in key markets based on demand.
