Four categories of people exempt from Salik toll fees in Dubai

Dubai’s toll operator Salik has confirmed that people of determination falling under four specific disability categories are eligible for exemptions from road toll fees across the city’s 10 Salik gates.

Eligible categories

According to Salik, the exemption applies to individuals diagnosed with:

  • Intellectual disabilities

  • Physical or motor disabilities

  • Autism

  • Visual impairments

Vehicle ownership requirement

To qualify, the applicant must either own the vehicle or be directly related to the vehicle owner. Acceptable family relationships include:

  • Parents

  • Spouse (with marriage certificate)

  • Children (with birth certificate)

  • Grandparents

  • Siblings

  • Grandchildren

Required documents

Applicants must submit the following:

  • A valid vehicle registration in the name of the applicant or a first- or second-degree relative

  • A valid Emirates ID

  • A valid “People of Determination” ID card issued by the Ministry of Community Development or a “Sanad Card” from the Dubai Community Development Authority

  • Proof of relationship if the applicant is not the vehicle owner

How to apply

Applications can be submitted online by visiting the official Salik website, selecting ‘Salik Services’, and filling out the ‘Toll Exemption Request’ form.

  • Al Safa South and North (Sheikh Zayed Road)

  • Al Barsha (Sheikh Zayed Road)

  • Business Bay Crossing (Al Khail Road)

  • Al Garhoud Bridge (Sheikh Rashid Road)

  • Al Maktoum Bridge (Umm Hurair Road)

  • Al Mamzar South and North (Al Ittihad Road)

  • Airport Tunnel (Beirut Street)

  • Jebel Ali (Sheikh Zayed Road)
