Dubai residents can now work from Al Barsha Pond Park, where a new facility combines outdoor workspaces with bookable, air-conditioned desks, private offices and meeting rooms.
Dubai Municipality has opened the city’s first Work From Park destination, allowing visitors to combine their working day with time outdoors. The facility offers free-to-access outdoor working areas alongside indoor, climate-controlled spaces that can be booked through Letswork.
The initiative adds a professional workspace option within an established neighbourhood park, giving freelancers, remote workers and businesses another place to work closer to home.
What Al Barsha Pond Park’s Work From Park offers
The new destination caters to different working needs, from individuals looking for a temporary desk to teams requiring private meeting facilities.
Its facilities include:
Outdoor working areas accessible to all park visitors.
Climate-controlled indoor workspaces.
Bookable desks and meeting rooms.
Private offices for individuals and teams.
Dedicated desks for longer-term use.
Spaces for events, networking and wellness activities.
While outdoor areas are open to park visitors, indoor facilities can be booked in advance.
Day access, dedicated desks and private offices are available through the Letswork application and website, subject to availability. Pricing and package details are provided through the platform.
Dubai parks expand beyond recreation
The opening reflects Dubai Municipality’s wider plans to develop public parks into multifunctional community destinations.
Under the initiative, Al Barsha Pond Park will offer more than traditional recreational facilities, providing opportunities for residents to work, socialise and take part in community activities.
Bader Anwahi, CEO of the Public Facilities Agency at Dubai Municipality, said, “The opening of Work From Park reflects our vision for the next generation of Dubai’s public spaces, where parks serve a broader role in everyday community life. We are developing destinations that respond to how people live, work and interact, introducing new experiences that complement the essential recreational and environmental functions of our parks.”
He added, “Through this initiative, we are creating opportunities for people to work and connect closer to home while benefiting from the natural surroundings and recreational facilities of Al Barsha Pond Park. It also demonstrates how collaboration with the private sector can enhance the value of public destinations by introducing innovative services that respond to community needs. Our ambition is to continue developing accessible, versatile and sustainable public spaces that enrich everyday experiences and contribute to making Dubai a more liveable city.”
The project forms part of Dubai Municipality’s efforts under the Dubai 2040 Parks and Greenery Strategy.
Modular construction helped minimise park disruption
The facility was developed in partnership with Group AMANA and Letswork, with Group AMANA using modular construction methods through DuBox and DuPod.
Much of the construction and fitting-out work took place off-site in a controlled factory environment while preparations continued at the park.
The modular units were then assembled at Al Barsha Pond Park. According to the project details, this approach helped improve construction efficiency and quality control while reducing on-site work and disruption to park visitors.
Tariq Alawneh, General Manager of Group AMANA, said, “It’s an honour to partner with Dubai Municipality on its vision for Dubai’s parks. Using modular, sustainable construction, we’ve transformed a park into a community space that offers people across Dubai a better, more inspiring place to work. I can’t wait to see what they’ll achieve here.”
Letswork manages bookings and workspace access
Letswork is responsible for operating and managing the workspace experience through its digital platform.
Omar Almheiri, Co-Founder and CTO of Letswork, said, “We kept it simple. Book a desk or a meeting room in a few taps on the Letswork app, show up and get to work. For anyone who wants a longer-term base, dedicated desks and private offices are also available. Our focus now is making sure the experience is great every day for everyone who works from the park, in support of our leadership’s vision for Dubai to be the best city in the world to live and work.”
The new destination adds another option for people seeking flexible working arrangements in Dubai, while expanding the range of activities available at one of the city’s neighbourhood parks.
