Dubai Chambers strengthens global ties at Melbourne congress

Dubai Chambers concluded its participation at the 14th World Chambers Congress held in Melbourne, Australia, from September 2 to 4, with a series of strategic meetings and new international partnerships.

During the three-day event, Dubai Chambers held more than 25 bilateral meetings with government entities, private companies, and chambers of commerce from various countries. Discussions focused on enhancing trade and investment ties and promoting Dubai’s business environment to international partners.

New agreement with Victoria

A key outcome of the visit was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Australia. The agreement aims to encourage Australian companies to explore opportunities in Dubai, while supporting Dubai Chamber of Commerce members seeking to expand into the state of Victoria. Both parties also committed to future cooperation on trade exhibitions, investment missions, and data exchange.

Panel highlights Dubai’s strengths

Speaking on a panel titled ‘Geo-Economics: Navigating the ripple effects of geopolitical disruption’, His Excellency Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah underlined Dubai’s continued appeal for investors.

“Capital always flows towards business hubs distinguished by a stable and diversified economy, a secure and adaptable investment climate, and a modern, open business environment,” he said. “These fundamentals are at the heart of Dubai’s appeal.”

He noted that Dubai remains a reliable global hub for trade and business expansion despite ongoing geopolitical and economic shifts.

Dubai Chambers also launched the Chamber Benchmarking Tool in collaboration with the International Chamber of Commerce and the World Chambers Federation. The platform allows chambers of commerce worldwide to evaluate their performance across seven key areas, using global standards and best practices.

The World Chambers Congress is the largest international gathering of chamber leaders, drawing representatives from more than 1,200 chambers across 100 countries. The event serves as a platform for knowledge sharing, policy discussion, and building stronger global business networks.
