The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai will introduce five new public bus routes starting August 29, 2025, to meet growing demand and improve service for bus commuters across the city.

This initiative aims to better connect key residential and industrial areas, supporting Dubai’s expanding population and urban development.

New routes overview

The new routes cover important zones, offering more direct and frequent services:

Route 31: Dubai Outsource City – Dubai Silicon Oasis

This route will link Dubai Silicon Oasis and Dubai Outsource City, with buses operating every 20 minutes during peak hours to offer faster, more convenient travel between these two busy hubs.

Routes 62A and 62B: Al Qusais Industrial Area and Ras Al Khor

To enhance coverage, the existing Route 62 has been split into two separate routes. Route 62A will run between Al Qusais Industrial Area and Al Qusais Metro Station.

Route 62B will cover the route from Al Qusais Metro Station to Ras Al Khor – Samari Residences. Both will run every 30 minutes during peak periods.

Route F26A: Onpassive Bus Station – Al Quoz Industrial Area 4

This new route targets commuters within the Al Quoz Industrial Area, with buses running every 30 minutes during peak hours to improve access to this industrial zone.

Route X91: Al Ghubaiba Bus Station – Jebel Ali Bus Station (express)

Operating as an express service, Route X91 will run between Al Ghubaiba Bus Station and Jebel Ali Bus Station but will not stop at Business Bay Metro Station. Passengers traveling between Al Ghubaiba and Business Bay Metro can use the modified Route 91, which will continue running every 30 minutes.

Modifications to existing routes

Alongside the new routes, RTA will adjust nine other bus services from August 29 to enhance route efficiency and passenger experience:

  • Route 7: Changed from a circular to a two-directional route, running between Al Quoz and Al Satwa Bus Stations.

  • Route 91: Shortened to operate between Al Ghubaiba Bus Station and Business Bay Metro Station only (northbound).

  • Route F62: Converted from circular to two-directional between Emirates Metro Station and Nad Al Hamar.

  • Route 77: Modified from circular to two-directional route, linking Baniyas Square Metro and Al Garhoud.

  • Route X25: Shortened to run between Al Karama Bus Station and Dubai Silicon Oasis.

  • Route 50: Continues between International City and Business Bay but will no longer pass Dubai Outsource City. Further adjustments in International City are planned for a later phase.

  • Route 21A and 21B: Both routes shortened, operating between Al Quoz and Al Ghubaiba Bus Stations in opposite directions.

  • Route J01: Rerouted within Jumeirah Village Circle for better service.

Adel Shakri, Director of Planning and Business Development at RTA’s Public Transport Agency, said, “RTA is continuously committed to expanding and developing public bus services to support Dubai’s public transport network, be in harmony with the Emirate’s population growth, urban expansion, and the progress witnessed across all sectors.”

He added, “RTA always seeks to expand the public bus network and enhance its integration with other public transport modes, such as the metro, tram, and marine transport. Enhancing the connectivity among these modes will make public transport the optimal choice for mobility across the emirate.”

The introduction of new routes and upgrades to existing services aims to provide smoother, more efficient, and comfortable journeys for Dubai’s public transport users as the city continues to grow.
