Dubai International (DXB) is gearing up for a significant increase in traffic during the Eid Al Fitr holiday period, with more than 3.6 million guests expected to pass through its terminals between March 26 and April 7, 2025.

To support smoother travel during this busy time, Dubai Airports has introduced the DXB Express Maps, a smart wayfinding tool designed to assist passengers with real-time navigation across all terminals.

Guests can easily access the DXB Express Maps by scanning a QR code displayed on any flight information screen throughout the airport.

This innovative feature helps passengers quickly find their gates, browse the full range of dining and retail options, and locate important facilities, ensuring a hassle-free airport experience.

Eid travel surge and expected traffic at DXB

The busiest day of the holiday period is forecast for Saturday, April 5, with 309,000 guests expected to pass through DXB’s terminals. On average, daily traffic is projected to reach 276,000 guests, with a noticeable increase in the first week of April.

Departures during the Eid week are expected to surge by 19% compared to the average weekly volume over the past month, marking a significant seasonal uplift. With schools closed for the spring break, demand from key VFR (visiting friends and relatives) markets like India, Pakistan, and the United Kingdom is expected to rise, alongside an increase in leisure travel to destinations such as Sri Lanka, Türkiye, and Italy.

Ensuring seamless journeys

To accommodate the anticipated travel rush, Dubai Airports is enhancing services to ensure a smooth journey for all passengers.

In addition to the DXB Express Maps, People of Determination (PoD) will benefit from clearly marked accessibility routes, discreet support from trained staff wearing Sunflower pins for those using the Sunflower Lanyard, and a dedicated Assisted Travel Lounge in Terminal 2.

Dubai Airports has also collaborated with airlines, service providers, and government authorities to streamline guest flows across all touchpoints, ensuring an efficient and enjoyable experience throughout the holiday period.
