Dubai shoppers can enter a raffle to win a share of 1kg of gold under a city-wide Diwali jewellery promotion running until November 12, with offers at 180 participating outlets.

Dubai Diwali Gold Rush: how to enter

The Dubai Jewellery Group (DJG) launched its Diwali Gold Rush promotion on October 24, giving customers who spend at least Dhs 1,500 on jewellery at participating outlets a chance to enter the raffle.

Shoppers receive one entry for every Dhs 1,500 spent by scanning the campaign QR code. Purchases made before November 7 qualify for double chances in the raffle, according to the campaign details.

The promotion runs until November 12, 2026, with two draws planned.

Gold prizes and draw dates

The campaign offers a total of 1kg of gold across two draws:

  • Dhanteras draw: Five winners will each receive 100 grams of gold. Eligible purchases must be made between October 24 and November 6.
  • Grand draw: One winner will receive 500 grams of gold. Purchases made between October 24 and November 12 qualify, with the draw scheduled for November 12.

Jewellery discounts and exchange offers

Participating outlets are also offering a range of deals during the promotion, including:

  • 25% to 50% off making charges on selected gold jewellery.
  • Up to 50% off selected diamond and polki jewellery.
  • Complimentary gifts with purchases, subject to terms and conditions.
  • Zero deductions on old-gold exchanges at participating outlets.

Shoppers should check individual store terms and eligible products before making a purchase.

Why Dubai attracts Diwali gold shoppers

Gold jewellery is traditionally purchased during Diwali and Dhanteras, making the festive period an important time for jewellery retailers in Dubai.

Dubai Jewellery Group Chairman Tawhid Abdullah said: “Diwali is one of the most important gold-buying occasions of the year, and Dubai has always been where families come to make that purchase with confidence,” said Mr. Tawhid Abdullah, Chairman of DJG.

“With gold prices here up to 13% lower than in India, Dubai is a highly price-competitive jewellery destination, supported by competitive making charges, tax refunds for tourists, an extensive variety of designs and strong quality standards. There is no better place to buy jewellery and celebrate the season. The Diwali Gold Rush adds one more reason, giving every shopper the chance to take home gold as a reward.”

The group also highlighted Dubai’s range of jewellery designs and gold-purity standards as factors supporting the city’s appeal to local and international buyers.

What Indian travellers should know

The announcement also refers to revised Indian rules for eligible travellers carrying gold jewellery into India. It states that eligible women can bring up to 40 grams and eligible men up to 20 grams duty-free, subject to the applicable conditions.

Travellers should verify the current Indian customs rules and eligibility requirements before travelling, as allowances depend on the relevant regulations.

The Diwali Gold Rush runs until November 12 across 180 participating jewellery outlets in Dubai.
