Renowned celebrity chef Kunal Kapur has officially launched his much-anticipated restaurant, Pincode, at The Galleria, Al Maryah Island in Abu Dhabi.
Following the remarkable success of the Dubai Hills location, Pincode has made another mark in the UAE capital, offering a unique blend of vibrant flavours and innovative design.
Chef Kunal’s menu at Pincode
Chef Kunal, whose name has become synonymous with bringing Indian food to the global stage, has crafted a menu that speaks to the soul of India while pushing familiar boundaries.
Inspired by his travels around the world and secrets passed down through generations, the menu is designed to surprise.
Expect a carefully balanced use of spices, ground in-house just like in traditional Indian kitchens, along with elegant presentation and distinct flavours in dishes that showcase the labour-intensive art of Indian cooking.
The Dal Makhni, for instance, takes 12 hours to prepare, while the Pincode Signature Biryani reflects Chef Kunal’s, ingredient-forward approach. Adding to the staples, playful dishes like the Spiral Chaat, a fresh take on classic street food, and Saag Burrata bring richness and warmth to the table.
In Abu Dhabi, Chef Kunal is taking traditional recipes to new heights, putting the spotlight on fresh, ingredient-driven dishes, and giving classic favorites a creative, modern twist that truly delights.
Here, dining goes beyond just a meal — it’s an experience, with each space crafted to create layers of sensory moments.
The Abu Dhabi location boasts a stunning design that reflects the diverse Indian diaspora. Inspired by India’s rich cultural influences, the restaurant’s interior artfully combines traditional aesthetics with modern design elements, creating a captivating space for guests.
Enchanting ambiance
As you enter Pincode, you’re greeted by an ambiance that’s both cozy and enchanting, highlighted by a stunning veil installation at the very entrance that ignites curiosity and beckons guests to explore further. This thoughtful element adds layers to the setting, inviting you to peel back its stories and secrets. Masterfully conceived by Chetana Vij and Vikram Sharma from IDAG, the design team has expertly woven together elements of traditional Indian craftsmanship, like intricate woodwork and artisanal details, with bold, global influences.
The restaurant’s vibrant palette — think saffron yellows, indigo blues, ruby reds, and emerald greens — reflects the essence of India, while neutral tones ensure a sophisticated and welcoming vibe.
“Abu Dhabi is a melting pot of cultures and flavours, making it the perfect location for Pincode. The city’s vibrant culinary scene and appreciation for diverse cuisines align perfectly with our mission to showcase the richness of Indian heritage. I believe that the people of Abu Dhabi will resonate with our unique offerings, and we are excited to share our passion for food in a city that celebrates both tradition and modernity,” said Celebrity Chef Kunal Kapur.
“At Pincode, we are not just serving food; we are celebrating the rich tapestry of Indian culture that spans generations and borders. Each dish on our menu tells a story, reflecting the diverse flavours and traditions that make Indian cuisine so unique. Our design is a visual homage to this heritage, blending traditional craftsmanship with modern aesthetics to create an inviting atmosphere that resonates with both nostalgia and contemporary vibrancy. We aim to connect our guests to their roots while embracing the dynamic influences that shape the culinary landscape today. Pincode is a space where everyone can come together to experience the warmth of Indian hospitality and the joy of great food,” added Kunal Kapur.
Pincode Abu Dhabi is an eclectic mix of artifacts and accessories that personalize the environment, telling stories that resonate with the heritage and global influences of the Indian diaspora.
