The Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) has implemented new speed limit reductions on several major roads in Abu Dhabi, effective from April 14. The initiative is part of broader efforts to improve road safety and reduce traffic accidents across the emirate.
Motorists are being urged to observe the updated traffic signs and adhere to the new limits:
Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed International Road (E11):
Reduced from 160 km/h to 140 km/hAbu Dhabi–Suweihan Road (E20), also known as International Airport Road:
Reduced from 120 km/h to 100 km/h
The DMT, in coordination with relevant authorities, continues to review and adjust speed limits based on traffic patterns and safety data to create safer roads for all users.
