Arada has awarded a construction contract worth Dhs397 million to Modern Building Contracting Company (MBCC) for the development of the Rove Aljada hotel cluster, a key part of its Dhs35 billion Aljada megaproject in Sharjah.

Four-building cluster

The new development will consist of four buildings: the Rove Aljada hotel and Rove Home Aljada branded residences. The cluster will be built near Arada’s upcoming central business district, Arada CBD, and the Madar Mall retail complex. Construction begins immediately, with completion scheduled for December 2027.

Hotel and residences

The Rove Aljada hotel will offer 192 rooms along with amenities such as a rooftop pool, co-working spaces, a 24-hour gym and an all-day dining restaurant.

Rove Home Aljada will include 306 branded residences and serviced apartments, ranging from one- to three-bedroom layouts. Residents will have access to a gym, pool, café, restaurant, co-working areas and ground-floor retail.

Demand from travellers

Commenting on the contract, Ahmed Alkhoshaibi, Group CEO of Arada, said: “We are absolutely committed to delivering world-class amenities to support the growth of this transformational new destination and this contract award is further evidence of that. With the introduction of Rove’s fresh and dynamic hospitality concept, we are responding to rising demand from both business and leisure travelers seeking smart, connected and design-led experiences in Sharjah.”

The Rove Aljada contract is the latest step in Aljada’s ongoing expansion. Work is already under way on the 40-building Arada CBD, while a Dhs2.2 billion contract was awarded last month for the construction of Madar Mall, designed by Zaha Hadid Architects.

Arada’s hospitality portfolio is also growing. Nest Hotel is expected to open by the end of 2025, and the four-building Vida Aljada complex is on track to launch in early 2026. Both Vida Aljada and The Address Aljada are owned by Arada and will be operated by Emaar Hospitality Group.

Aljada is already home to 20,000 residents and will eventually include more than 25,000 homes alongside retail, entertainment, educational, wellness and commercial facilities. The site offers quick access to key roads and transport hubs, including Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, Sharjah International Airport and the future Etihad Rail station.
