UAE developer Arada has awarded construction contracts worth Dhs2.04 billion for 2,210 new homes at the Aljada master community in Sharjah.
The contracts cover main construction works across 14 residential buildings as part of the next development phase of the Dhs35 billion project.
Construction contracts
Construction of five Nesba buildings on East Boulevard and five Safa buildings on West Boulevard has been awarded to China Tiesiju Civil Engineering Group Co., a subsidiary of China Railway Group.
Another contract covering The Gate blocks 3 to 6 has been awarded to Mohammed Abdulmohsin Al Kharafi and Sons LLC. The contractor has previously worked with Arada on projects in Aljada, Masaar and Nasma Residences.
Both contracts will run for 26 months, with all buildings scheduled for delivery in the second quarter of 2028.
New residential blocks
The new developments will include apartment buildings with units ranging from one-bedroom homes to four-bedroom family residences. Smart home technology will be included in all units.

Community features
The Nesba and Safa buildings will be located next to Aljada’s sports park, which is currently under construction and expected to open by the end of 2026. The 400,000 sq ft facility will include a football pitch, five-a-side fields and courts for padel, basketball, volleyball, squash and badminton, as well as cycling and jogging tracks and children’s play areas.
The Gate 3 and 4 buildings will sit at the entrance of East Boulevard opposite SABIS International School – Aljada. The Gate 5 and 6 buildings will be located at the West Boulevard entrance, near Raffles World Academy Aljada, which is scheduled to open for the 2026-2027 academic year.
Aljada project
Aljada spans 24 million square feet and will include more than 25,000 homes along with retail, offices, hospitality and education facilities. Around 20,000 people already live in the community.
The development is located close to major roads including Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road and Al Dhaid Road, and is a short drive from Sharjah International Airport.
