Etihad Airways has introduced a limited-time promotional offer to make it easier for passengers to travel with their pets in the aircraft cabin. The airline announced that until May 31, 2026, travellers booking its “Pets Onboard” service can fly with cats or dogs for USD 399 (around Dhs1,465) per flight segment. The offer applies to bookings and travel completed within the promotional period.
Etihad is currently the only UAE-based airline that allows small pets to travel in the cabin alongside their owners.
Cabin arrangements
Pets must remain in approved carriers throughout the flight. In Economy Class, carriers can be placed under the seat, while passengers may also choose to purchase an extra seat for additional space.
In Business Class, pets are accommodated with an additional seat to ensure comfort and safety during the journey.
The airline said the move comes in response to increasing demand from passengers who prefer to travel with their pets.
“For many of our guests, pets are part of the family, and we understand how important it is to travel together. The service allows small cats and dogs to travel in the aircraft cabin alongside their owners, helping reduce stress for pets while allowing guests to keep their pets close throughout the journey” said Arik De, Etihad’s Chief Revenue and Commercial, “By making our Pets Onboard service more accessible, we hope to welcome even more guests travelling with their pets while continuing to offer the warmth, care and peace of mind that define the Etihad experience.”
Etihad added that dedicated teams assist passengers with travel preparations, including meeting required documentation and procedures before departure. The airline said the initiative is part of its efforts to improve passenger experience while maintaining safety and comfort standards for both travellers and their pets.
