Dubai-based delivery platform talabat enabled more than Dhs88 million in rider tips across the Middle East and North Africa in 2025, while charitable donations made through its app exceeded Dhs28 million, according to figures released by the company.
Rider tips growth
talabat said customers using its platform tipped riders more than €20 million during the year, with all tips paid directly to riders. Based on current exchange rates, this equals more than Dhs88 million.
The company said tipping is built into the ordering experience, allowing customers to support delivery riders as part of everyday transactions.
Charity contributions
In addition to rider tips, talabat users contributed more than €6.45 million, or over Dhs28 million, to charitable causes through the app in 2025. Donations were made through partnerships with more than 50 licensed regional and international charities and non-governmental organisations.

The contributions supported areas such as food security, humanitarian relief and community support across talabat’s markets in the region.
talabat said its Giving Back and tipping options are permanent features of its digital platform. Funds are transferred directly to riders and charity partners, with no retention by the company.
May Youssef, Sr Director of Corporate Affairs at talabat, said, “talabat is more than a delivery app – it is a platform that connects people to opportunity, dignity and support at scale. Our technology allows millions of small acts of generosity to combine into real, measurable impact for families, charities and riders across the region.”
Simonida Subotic, Vice President and Managing Director at talabat UAE, said, “At talabat UAE, we’re proud to play our part by enabling customers to give back through the app in a seamless and trusted way, supporting riders and charitable organisations across the country.”
